Meet Chord
Memorable key sequences for your Mac. A little vocabulary that goes a long way.
Chord turns a few letters into an action. Open an app, navigate a window, run a shell command, or call your own JavaScript handler, using a sequence you can remember.
Your existing shortcuts keep working. Chord listens for sequences only while you are in chord mode.
One small idea
Hold Caps Lock, press and hold Space, then let go of Caps Lock. Type your chord and release Space to run it.
For example, 0, opens Chord's settings. With the Finder package enabled and Finder focused, gh takes you home: go home.

Start small, build from there
Use what's ready. The official collection includes packages for Finder, Safari, Chromium browsers, VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, terminal apps, windows, and more. Enable the packages you need in Settings.
Choose your vocabulary. App-specific sequences live with their application. Global sequences begin with a symbol and work across apps. Use , for your own global chords.
Go beyond shortcuts. Handlers run under Bun and can use the built-in chord module, shell processes, files, or native add-ons. Start with creating a package, then explore the scripting API.
